Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation continues the franchise’s streak of freshness (ever since Ghost Protocol raised quality-standards) with a solid, exceptional spy thriller. The fifth combines vibes of both the first Mission Impossible and Ghost Protocol, creating a more distinct yet familiar entry that should massively please fans. Like previous Mission Impossible entries however, the film suffers from a lack of emotional investment. That being said, enough well-choreographed action spectacles should certainly make the audience forgive these—not necessarily needed—absences. (Verdict: B)
Also, the underwater sequence is hands down one of the most creative and inventive action sequences ever put to film. Seriously, it never gets old.
Rebecca Ferguson = Smartest decision this franchise has made yet.
