Quickie: Predator 2 (1990)

Not bad. Not bad at all. Danny Glover V Predator is a decently steady follow-up to the original action-heavy, sci-fi blended cult classic. I absolutely dug the new Los Angeles setting; it gave me some nostalgic Escape From New York/Robocop vibes. The acting is overtly over-the-top, but that sort-of adds to the pleasant ludicrousness of the film. We also get some more fearsome Predator moments, even a healing sequence which I did not ever predict I’d need until now. There’s some vigorously unexplained nonsense occurring regularly in Predator 2, but I mean, come on, it’s a Predator movie, I’m not asking for a perfect action masterpiece, just a elementary, lively, cheesy, unwinded thriller, and that’s essentially what this sequel granted me with. (Verdict: C+)

Rest In Peace Bill Paxton. 😢

*SPOILERS* Ha, now how bout that Xenomorph Skull Easter Egg? We all know that would lead us into some fantastic movies in the near future…
