Quickie: Akira (1988)

Akira is a complex, colossally groundbreaking, science fiction, motorhead-charged classic that undeniably, galvanized numerous elemental credentials in the world of anime. Its panorama of an apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo is a cold gape into post-war trauma and the feasible inception and termination of the universe.

Verdict: B

Imagine if Denis Villeneuve, George Miller, Neill Blomkamp, and Roger Deakins got together and made a live-action Akira remake. Godly.

“Akira” is now available to rent and buy on Vudu, iTunes, and Hulu.
