Everything I jotted down about the first Hellboy substantially applies for this second contender. Hellboy II: The Golden Army works as another dynamic, homespun popcorn-flick in the series while furnishing even more insight into our cherished creature-feature characters. Conclusively, it lives up to, if not, dominates the 2004 original ever so slightly in terms of its “objective quality”. As far as personal taste goes though, I may prefer the original over this. Don’t kill me.
Verdict: B-
And, OMG I can’t believe Guillermo del Toro made a “fish f******” love story before he made The Shape of Water! Haha, this guy is into some really weird, kinky stuff.
