To hell with all you sick, sick b******* who liked this movie.
Hold up. Wait a second…
If you feel like unleashing your inner demons for two hours, then watch Michael Haneke’s Funny Games (1997). It has teenaged maniacs obnoxiously toying around with a bunch of—sorry to say this but it’s kind-of true—idiots, malicious carnage, and gifted actor Arno Frisch playing a character that’s utterly engulfing yet, self-annoyingly, a total prick. Essentially, this movie’s main goal is to severely piss you off. You’re so lucky Mr. Haneke that your ambitious project has some well-founded, thought-provoking themes disguised throughout. I hope you’re happy with yourself sir.
Verdict: B+
P.S. Watch this movie with the whole family. You’re welcome.
“Funny Games” is now available to stream on The Criterion Channel.
