Quickie: Curse of Chucky (2013)

If Mike Flanagan (the mad-dog behind Oculus, Hush, etc.) directed a Chucky movie, it would be Curse of Chucky. This is not only a decently well-assembled revamp for an iconic slasher franchise but a sequel that constitutes exciting new ingredients to come into fruition in the near future thanks to its inclusion of the series’ most satisfying ending yet.

Fiona Dourif is now officially the best thing to happen to this franchise since, well, Jennifer Tilly’s role of Tiffany was ever divulged. Whether that’s saying nothing about her inclusion—considering the amount of crap that followed after the introduction of Tiffany—or a whole lot, I can at least pledge that she hoards fresh plot points to the story of Charles Lee Ray.

Oh! And the Chucky doll in Curse or Chucky might be my all-time favorite design of the miniature, trash-talking serial killer currently. Nice!
