The bouncy, flaming and often savage discourse between Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce, and Terence Stamp’s characters allows for The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert to dwindle as a clubbable, high-spirited comic opera. However, the movie does periodically feel like a low-grade, cheapjack Adam Sandler comedy, but like, one of his more tolerable features from the 90s, you know? Also, do you guys remember Guy Pearce? Man, I miss those days when he was such a big deal.
Verdict: C+
