Unconventional yet compromising, Orlando is a period piece magnified by Tilda Swinton’s wonderful performance and some sharp cinematography, but fundamentally tied down by Sally Potter’s unusually never-ending pace and truthfully “unmerited” overexaggerated implications. In simple terms, it’s ambitiously derivative. It’s…unique…though…I suppose?
