Quick-Thoughts: Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

Confession: I have been DYING and PLANNING to see Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat for four whole years now. Why I’ve procrastinated on it for this long is beyond me—besides the fact that it hasn’t been available for free on any streaming devices and the Blu-ray copies of it have been hella expensive.

Important thing though is, I finally saw it, and…

It’s fairly shocking that Trick ‘r Treat was a horror anthology movie made for television yet in comparison to the majority of freakshow features that do come out in theaters, its quality sky-rockets. It’s the kind of movie that isn’t without its obvious flaws, but the zestful spirit in the film’s passion for Halloween and horror dominates what may weigh it down contextually.

And also, Sam is the darndest horror movie mascot ever!

Verdict: B-

“Trick ‘r Treat” is now available to stream on YouTube, Vudu, Amazon Prime, Google Play, and iTunes.
