Quick-Thoughts: Woody Allen’s Manhattan (1979)

Wow, Woody Allen literally exposed his repulsive, real-life tendencies in this movie like it was nothing. FBI, open up!

Loved the embracive, black-and-white cinematography. Allen’s dialogue is exceptionally droll and genuine as usual. The romantic story with Diane Keaton is pretty fascinating too—once again. After watching Annie Hall, this is about everything I’ve come to expect from Allen, which is sort of a bonus and sort of a let-down. Either way, case in point, I enjoyed Manhattan to a solid degree! What a sugary ending, as well.

Verdict: B
