Wholesome yet principally shallow, there’s not much to say when it comes to Josh Safdie’s feature-length debut The Pleasure of Being Robbed. It is, however, comforting to just casually watch 69 minutes of 16mm footage shot by filmmakers and actors who seemed like they were just trying to have a cozy time making this project. There’s a heartwarming surrealist’s scene in here, as well. Save the polar bears! Love & peace!

Damn, seeing Josh Safdie in person though; truly an uncut gem.

Verdict: C+

“The Pleasure of Being Robbed” is now available to stream on The Criterion Channel.
